The Power To Change The World!

Children are the ultimate changemakers! They are constantly in a state of flux. What they liked yesterday, may not be what they like tomorrow.

While that may be frustrating, in the present moment, for the parent having to navigate those constantly changing tides…

that type of fluidity is exactly what the world needs!

Children have the wonderful ability to be blind to race, oblivious of political affiliations, indifferent to religious views, and unconcerned with how they playmates identify as individually.

What they do know, is if they like another person based on how that person treats them, body language, and their overall vibe. If two children like the same color, they can begin forming a friendship that can last a lifetime.

They just let it grow and grow

Unfortunately, as children get older, their familial views and societal pressure to conform (i.e. blend in and be “normal”) begin to change that :(

What if:

-We made teaching children the value of charity as important as learning to tie their shoes?

-Mindfulness was the best tool children could learn to deal with test anxiety and the pressures they face with their education?

-Meditation replaced time-out?

-Yoga became an after school activity; just like soccer or basketball?

-Gratitude Journaling was a daily practice done in the morning and in the evening?

-Participating in neighborhood clean-ups, helping out at food drives, making food for soup kitchens, and other philanthropical activities were as common as going to the park?

“What if”. Those are some mighty big words, right?

One person, one child, can make a difference! And if one can make a difference, imagine what 12, 24, 48, or more could do with the proper tools at their disposal!

We offer some really great books in our children’s section to help inspire young children to dream big!

Beyond that, we have included some links below to pages with information on how to help shape your young ones into future world changemakers!

You only get to parent them once. 18 years may sound like a long time, but as any parent with an empty nest will tell you, it goes by faster than you can imagine.

The Ripple Kindness Project is an excellent introduction into the concept of paying it forward and practicing random acts of kindness. Check it out!
