My perfectly imperfect life!
“I can’t do a 5k”
That was the story inside of my head in 2016; I can’t do a 5K. I was overweight and out of shape. I hate running. I cannot do a 5K. But then, I asked myself “Do I need to run the entire 5K? Do I even need to run at all? Do I need to be the winner in order to feel proud of myself?” As it turns out, the answer is no.
This picture is from 2017 when I completed my first 5K, alongside my teenage daughter. It was an Inflatable 5K event and it was so much fun! We ran a little, walked when we wanted, and laughed all day long. That day I broke the agreement in my head that I couldn’t do a 5k. That day, like most days, I proved that I didn’t have to be like everyone else. I did it my way, made wonderful memories, and accomplished my goal…all with my favorite human by my side!
What if?
What if I could be successful…even without a GED?
It began with someone telling me that I should be working for myself.
Then the opportunity came along to get my personal training certificate and teach yoga classes. I grew that business to its maximum, with a waiting list.
Then another opportunity presented itself, to take over the day to day operations at the store my future husband owned. I bought in, took over, and have never looked back. That was in 2005.
I grew that business for 15 years and opened 3 other stores while doing it. I revamped it when it no longer suited my life. And I closed it when that chapter of my life came to an end.
Without intending to, I became a serial entrepreneur. And I did it without a diploma or a GED. Today is no different than 2005. I am building Samsara Life Transformations without getting my GED because I want to be a beacon of hope and inspiration for every single person who has ever been told that they could not accomplish their goals and dreams because they lack a formal education. I want them to look at me, all that I have accomplished, what I am building now and say “If she can do it, so can I!!”
I believe in the power of determination, dreaming big, setting goals and crushing them. I believe in the ability to thrive no matter what life throws at me and in being happy for the sake of being happy. I built Samsara to share those beliefs, and I am just getting started!
Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. If you have a dream inside your heart, I want to help you develop it. I believe we can all do whatever we set our minds and hearts to.
Make every day extraordinary!
I have a more than enough mindset. I like to say “I live in The Land Of Plenty” because I firmly believe that all my needs will be met. The Universe/God/Source wants me to be happy and abundant in all areas of my life.
This picture is from an afternoon coffee shop date with a friend who had moved out of town. I had never been to this particular place and simply could not choose just one treat…so I chose 4!
We sat there for over an hour drinking coffee, sampling deliciousness, and talking about life. Little did I know that trip would be the beginning of an epic journey that would change my entire life. I simply showed up with an open heart, open mind, and the belief that every day is extraordinary…if you choose to make it that way.
Sometimes it feels like we live for things like birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, etc. It gives us a reason to celebrate. I make an effort to live that way every day. I order desert first if I want it, I drink the good wine, I celebrate anniversaries monthly, I tell people that I love them often, I laugh daily and with every fiber of my being, I sing (sometimes off key) every chance I get, I get excited about virtually everything, and I am known to overdress for most every occasion. My life is the good candles; the fine china. I choose to look for ways to make every day feel extraordinary.
